OzAid Orphanage
What: Construction of girl's housing, OzAid Orphanage.
Where: Galle, southern Sri Lanka
Why: Our team was invited to Galle to for a brief project to construct living space for new orphans coming into OzAid orphanage. Using concrete blocks already on the site and an existing foundation, the team worked to construct a three-room structure to serve as living and bed space for orphans. Since Sri Lankan law requires that orphanages provide seperate facilities for different genders, the construction allowed OzAid to accept orphaned girls into their program.
