Donation of Physiotherapy Supplies and Surgical Tools to Batticaloa Teaching Hospital

What: Physiotherapy equipment and surgical tools donated by St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco was delivered to the newly-opened PT ward and the operating theatre of Batticaloa Teaching Hospital.
Where: Batticaloa, Batticaloa District
Why: Batticaloa Teaching Hospital had recently taken over the provision of physiotherapy treatment from an NGO. The new PT ward was understaffed, and had very little in the way of equipment and supplies. Our donation of two bags of braces and other PT equipment helped establish the new ward. Surgical equipment is expensive and essential; our donation of surgical equipment expanded the capacity of the surgical theatre in Batticaloa.
When: February 2008
Who: Nick, Cory, Margaret & Ruwan, with donations from St. Mary's Hospital; received by the physiotherapy ward of the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital.
