Horana Community Center
What: Community Center Construction
Where: Horana, central-western Sri Lanka
Why: Mercy Home owns a large property in the jungles near Sri Lanka's tea country. Much of the administration's initial energy was directed at youth rehabilitation, but the organization had long term plans to formulate an elders home and community center with their remaining properties. We partnered with Mercy Home to begin construction on a two-floor central facility. Using volunteers from Mercy's youth program, the project progressed quickly with an enormous workforce.
